What happens when a subscription payment fails?

A failed payment begins a grace period before new customer orders are suspended.

When a subscription payment fails, the business becomes Past Due and Orderly displays a billing warning. The storefront can continue operating during the configured grace period. If the invoice remains unpaid after that period, the business becomes Suspended and cannot accept new customer orders. Owners can still use the dashboard and billing pages. After the outstanding subscription is paid and Stripe confirms the active status, Orderly restores the business to Active and new-order acceptance resumes automatically.
